The Student

A Culture Philistine, ignorant of the geographic and social expanses
separating the two early 20th century greats Franz Kafka and Sergei
Rachmaninov, might believe, in all of his smug foolishness, that
the Russian-born composer had collaborated with the German/Czech
speaking author to produce a symphonically orchestrated short story,
so well does the music fit with the narration in this adapted film.
Ha!

Also, A man wrestles nightly with his neighbor, a student.
Production Notes: Shot
in little over a half hour and with only two men, this film is
regarded as one of the great early works of Dam Dirty Apes. It
seems through our neglect of any thought or form, we unknowingly
captured the existential spirit of Kafka's written word until,
that is, Aaron decided to reverse one of the shots in post. After
that it was dead.
